Yay to unit life?
the transition back to unit life was definitely a tough one especially when it comes to communicating to the men. i had to personally make the transition of tone to how i would convey my instructions to the men. It's not easy at all.

during PS course : Guys! It's 0545hrs now. Let's all go for breakfast and fall in.
trainees' reply : No problem. Roger that.

in unit : Bravo company!! its 0615hrs now! i want everybody down for breakfast now! Come down or i'll confine you this weekend! (the screamings will continue for another good 15 mins before the majority of them starts to form up at the parade square)
men reply : Sgt, you wake us late whaat. Early in the morning shout shout for #$%$%! Sgt, anyway some of them cannot go for breakfast because they got stomachache, headache, faceache and leg cramp.

Sometimes i really do wonder our roles as their commanders. Are we supposed to wake every single one up? if that's the case, then i won't wake up unless my csm wakes me up. And for that matter, shouldnt the chief of army play a part in waking up the officers as well? it's simply ridiculous.

Well, there were not many changes except maybe now the walls look better with fresh paint but other than that, there aren't any drastic changes. The men are still the same, always living up to my notion that they're making the specialists' lives living hell. They are still very reluctant to go for breakfast, always trying to come up with "real" reasons for not participating in any trainings, trying their luck to smoke the commanders and of course, jumping at any opportunity to sleep during office hours. I just don't understand them.

Sometimes, i really wish the men could be more understanding and serious to us especially when we attempt to knock some sense into them with all the pep and motivation talks. They're simply not inspired and it is really sad when i see my superiors attempting to do it. Tremendous amount of effort was put in and we really do mean well but these toads couldn't be bothered at all and what they are only concern with are offs, leaves, book outs, slacking, keng-ing and nights offs. They can only be motivated by carrots hence speaking volumes of their character.
