a big confusion.
wad we want and wad we really need.
i need food, but i really want chocolate sundae. lets be honest with ourselves, we WANT the latest phone models,
we WANT the nicest car and we WANT the biggest house.
but the truth is, one doesn't get satisfaction from getting what they want.
wad gives us satisfaction is offering what we have to give.
the whole idea of what we want versus what we need very often surrounds us but we always choose to ignore it. why talk about what we need when we can have wad we want? we gobble on anything and everything that is new, latest and cool. why? the answer is simple: acceptance and hunger for love.
"..people were embracing material things and expecting a sort of a hug back. but it never works," mitch albom, author of tuesdays with morrie.
one has to understand that one can't substitute material things for love or for gentleness or even satisfaction.
if we think we lack love, seek for it by spending time with ur love ones. devote ourselves to doing or creating something that gives us a sense of purpose and meaning. in that way, we'll become better individuals. be contented with the things that u have, when u have them and not when they are gone. be grateful.
what is the meaning of ur name?
firstly i hate it when people, especially malays who gave me the look when they ask for my name. like, ur name is matin? isn't it a christian's name? isn't it wrong? like wadever.i would always attempt to not be rude by just giving them a smile and not rolling my eyes. Its not a christian name for god sake.
And for the muslims, matin is one of the 99 names of the god, found in the Koran, asmaul husna.and for the sales person at Harvey Norman, jurong point whom i believe his name is Mr Hisham, here's what my name means. Oh yar btw, the joke on my name without the "n" at the end is sooo primary school. you couldn't have been any lamer.
Al mateen from the 99 attributes of Allah,
Asma'Allah al-Husna
The Firm One,the steadfast.. The One with extreme Power
which is un-interrupted and He does not get tired. Authoritative.
